June 24, 2008 – Slavic Village Bike Rodeo - Holy Name Church - 6 p.m. 8328 Broadway, in church parking lot. Free helmets and bike locks, while supplies last.

July 4, 2008 – Parade, community center, 9 a.m. Flag bearers will lead parade, followed by a wagon with marching music. Decorated bicyles, wagons, tricycles, big wheels, strollers, dogs on leashes, adults with babies in arm, etc., will parade around the square (Sexton and Archer). Each participating family will receive a patriotic wind sock and each participating child will receive a book of stickers. Non participating residents may purchase a wind sock (if available) for $1.
